George Wright (1860-1942)

Born in Headingley, near Leeds, England, George Wright was a very well-respected painter of sporting subjects - in particular, coaching, hunting, polo and other equine sports. His pictures were often painted in pairs, complementing and balancing each other and showing different scenes of the same event. He exhibited at the Royal Academy from 1892.
